Yeah, this originated from a doodle of Ryuuguu Rena that I did during my science/geology class last week. My 30 day trial version of Photoshop CS2 expired today, so I was up until one am in the morning trying to finish it and everything. Which isn’t fair, because I ended up learning a lot of things about Photoshop CS2 while coloring this… :upset: All right, so this isn’t the best thing in the world: the title sucks, the hands look awful, the chibi figure looks abnormal compared to the painting behind her, and the background was something so completely random that I don’t even know where it came from, not to mention the ground shadow looks awkward and out of place (but give me a break there, I was tired and wanted to go to bed *excuses, excuses*). :iconfacepalmemoteplz: Whatever.

I am so going to get yelled at by my teachers now for falling asleep in class today. Oh, woe is me…

I was creeped out when I first read the Higurashi comic, which I borrowed from a friend...
Because in my country, a girl killed her parents like how Rena killed a man, with an axe. (This really happened!!)
But I think their characters are good, as well as the story.
Nice picture ^^ I especially like the simple but beautiful (I don't know how to explain it, but beautiful!) background, which is greatly matching with Rena :D

Althought I haven't read the manga. ^^;
12 hours, hmm that is sure an awesome thing, I barely pass like an hour or two drawing. :noes:
Damn those teachers, maybe if they were aware of the things you have passed they might not tell you anything and let you sleep, but yeah, I haven't met a teacher that does that.
Maybe if you added blood on the weapon it would match with the background, althought I like it like that. =D

I really like it I don't know the character, but it's really good. When I see the knife and the blood. I must think on Sweeney Todd XD

But the picture is really good. In German I would say "wunderschön" this means "gorgeous"

I haven’t read all of the Higurashi manga yet (since the only free scanned copies of it I can find on the Internet are fan-translated copies), but I’ve seen every episode in both the first and second season of the anime adaption, which I consider to be professionally well-animated (at least for an anime that only got about a 500-to-600 dollar budget per episode). I’d play the original visual novels too if I could only find the method and the money to import them… :hmm:

あ　そうですわよ。I remember reading about that infamous incident. I believe it happened in Kyoto? (I thought it was the daughter of a Kyoto policeman who murdered her father with a hatchet.) Both of the twelfth episodes of the Higurashi no naku koro ni kai and School Days anime were cancelled and re-aired at a later date because of that (in addition to the opening for Higurashi Kai being altered slightly from episode twelve and onward).

But I agree with you about the Higurashi series having good characters and a fascinating plot. :D

Well, its origins actually come from as a doujinshi visual novel that later became so unexpectedly popular that it spawned manga adaptions, anime adaptions, character and drama CDs, Original SoundTracks, and tons of other merchandise (though most of that is based off of the anime). :O_o:

Twelve hours was actually how long it took to color it in and apply the background… If you include the time spent to draw the figure (thirty minutes) and then include the inking process and clean-up (between fifteen and forty-five minutes), that comes to about… thirteen and a half hours spent on this (possibly more since my time estimation is so bad). :ohmygod:

Well, lol, they are teachers and society around the world demands that they be very strict when it comes to teaching, so… :shrug: Actually, I managed to make it through class that day without falling asleep, though staying awake enough to not appear drowsy was tricky…

Yeah, I would’ve done so, but I ran out of time and it was one o’ clock am in the morning by the time I had finished and I was tired and itching to go to bed… ^^; Perhaps if I can get CS2 back or get myself a higher version (or a somewhat close-to-Photoshop-CS2-version) of Adobe Photoshop then maybe I’ll see about including blood on Rena’s bill hook cleaver. :)

Bloody hell! :laughing: And thanks! :highfive: I was mostly experimenting with CS2’s advanced brush system while in a major hurry to finish before my trial expired, so it’s not as great as it would be… ^^;

Oh, really? That would be very kind of you to do so. :hug: Although this is a stupid question, but if you did that wouldn’t the registration code not work for me since it’s already being used on another computer? :?
